Memory Dumpster

Today i was trying to repair Mr. Shum’s computer. It’s a Win2k with bundles of spywares and viruses. After clearing up the viruses and spywares using NAV, MS AntiSpyware and Spybot S & D, i tried to load WindowsUpdate. There you go, a blank screen.

Googling for a while i tried these two solutions:

regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 MSXML3.dll

Now i can load WindowsUpdate page. Apparently this page depends heavily on that dll.

jscript.dll -> Java script engine for IE

MSXML3.dll -> XML rendering engine for IE
